I get it that advertising is necessary, but making the ads so large and sensitive that one is constantly launching ads (and subsequently immediately closing them without even looking at them) is doing neither the reader nor the advertiser any service. The ads are probably being charged by click-thru but are not being seen/read at all. Make the ads smaller and you will get more traffic to the site. The ads will actually get read because those interested in the content being advertised will actually want to see the ads popped up so the click-thru the advertiser is being charged for is actually being seen.

For the last few days, every time I go to open an article to read I have to re enter my email address and Edmonton Journal password. What is this about? It is a real pain to have to do this.

Was doing just fine, thank you very much, with the older app for the Edmonton Journal, until it decided that it would no longer work with my iPad iOS 7.1. So downloaded iOS 9.1.1. Now it makes me download the new ejournal app. Did it. Many things are nice, although I did prefer the old "exactly like the print version" app better. And especially now that theres no comics!! (Who can live with no comics, I ask you!)

A horrible app, not well designed for iPad. And the subscription method is unreliable. You get billed but then cannot access the app without re-subbing. I give up.

Get kicked out of stories all the time. Some stories are fine; others booted out. Tried reloading app but did not matter.

Not sure why ads open up on safari when Im not clicking on them!

App constantly pushed to the background while unwanted pop up ads open in Safari in the middle of reading articles despite not clicking anything.

Very obvious just how much influence Toronto has on this rag!! Open the sports tab, at any given time, the top 6-8 headlines will be "Toronto". Seems to me that the local teams are Oilers, Eskimos, Oil Kings, etc!! If I want news about Toronto Ill look at the TSN app. Brutal trash! Save your time and watch the evening news!!

This app is so annoying, between each section is a huge ad which freezes device. You cant swipe out but instead completely close out then go back into next section to continue reading! Have given feedback several times, keeps happening! Please hire a tech that knows what theyre doing!

I use to like and surf this now and then to see what is up in my home town,,, Now I can only read the headlines and a MUST SUBSCRIBE thing pops up... So limit your clicks,,, sad to what has happened to most print paperss.
